Good,
This is the typical competition where it is important who has it any longer. Although I believe that they do not serve much these metrics, it is good to know about them. So we are going to explain a little what PYPL and TIOBEis described.
Both metric describes the popularity of programming languages. The good thing is that the results between the two are quite different, and that lies in the way in which process their data sources. On the one hand TIOBEhas the results of all pages with the name of a language and PYPL uses data from Google Trends associated with the name of a language with words such as “tutorial”, “programming”, etc. to get their data.
With these models TIOBE places the following languages between the 1st 5
- C
- Java
- Objective-C
- C++
- PHP
and PYPL puts
- Java
- PHP
- C#
- Python
- C++
Both have Java between the 2 first, but then the differences are quite curious, like for example the discard to Objective-C for PYPL or to C with TIOBE. Well, different methods is normal to give different results.
If I personally have to choose a choice I prefer PYPL, your formula will not in relation to the amount of material related to a programming language; but rather to searches that are performed on it. That is, the “most popular” not the “most famous” evaluates
