Buenas,

These days I’m not pulling too many lines of code, and the few that I do are somewhat secret and I can not talk about them. So take this little literary vein to talk about something that we’re seeing in the closed beta of the new KinectSdk > Kinect Fusion .

Fusion, Kinect is a new feature that will be included in the next KinectSdk 1.7 and that allows you to create 3D virtual environments from the images that “sensor”. If I had to explain to the Valentino, I would say something as well:

The Kinect cameras are watching each of the objects and keeping the position and location of the same. At that time, the Kinect is creating a 3D stage with this information.

Behind all this there is a data collection very large and with the help of an ICP algorithm (Iterative Closest Point) are processed the same to create the 3D stage.

Although as always the best is a series of images in video mode that are worth more than 1000 ^ ^ words

The following PDF has lots of information about Kinect Fusion, if you are interested in the subject of the processing of data or the creation of augmented reality environments, because you can spend a few nights in white. ismar2011.PDF

One response to “[#KINECT] Kinect Fusion, whats that? (OLA K ASE?)”

  1. Have you ever thought about publishing an e-book or guest authoring on other
blogs? I have a blog based on the same information you discuss and would love to
have you share some stories/information. I know my readers would appreciate
your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free
    to send me an email.
