a few days ago I was in a session of Windows 8 with Roberto at the offices of Microsoft. When we started to talk about our experiences with Windows 8, many commented that the change had been difficult or a bit traumatic. I’m going to comment on what I think are XX points that can help you to more easily switch to Windows 8.

How to work out of the home menu

Because Yes, finally Microsoft has removed the Windows Start menu. If you look at it in retrospect, the start menu is a great Accelerator for accessing programs or Windows functionalities, but since Windows Vista, we have another way to much simpler access to these elements.

Simply press the Windows key and from the METRO interface began to write the name of the application you want to launch.

METRO does not replace the start menu, it is METRO

I personally think that METRO is for applications that interact and show notifications, e.g. contacts, messages, etc..

How to close applications METRO

IMHO: The RAM is to consume it.

But may be you are of those who strives to have a laptop with 16 GB of RAM, a processor i7 in it, probably bother you that your operating system consumes more than 1 GB of RAM.

The first thing you’ll see is that METRO applications do not have an "X" to close them and that if it is not through the Task Manager, then is not very natural way to close them.

There is no way of closing these applications is selecting the upper section of them and dragging them towards the lower section. The gesture is quite natural when you work on a Tablet, but the mouse cost a little more.

Activate Windows 7 vista

Finally if these tips do not help you, you can activate a HACK that adds the start menu and change the style of Windows 8 that we already know Windows 7. A detail, this tip is not official and I do not believe it to be available in the final version of Windows 8. This mode is enabled with the following steps

• pressing Windows + W to access the settings of Windows
• write the phrase "change system"
• in the search results, select "System"
• within the properties of the system, select "advanced settings"
• display the list of options and select the option "enable Windows 7 mode"
• restart Windows

From this moment, every time that we change the METRO interface to the classic interface, we will see the look & feel of Windows 7.
