Hello!

Today’s tip is only for the brave and bold, in wrong hands it can leave to a non working dev environment, so feel free to stop read right now. Ok, you’re brave and bold, let’s move on.

If you want to reset the Toolbox controls, you have the the option “Reset Toolbox” in the IDE, and then there is a much more aggressive way to do this. 1st Go to the directory “C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\” and delete the files:

  • Toolbox.TBD
  • toolbox_reset.TBD
  • toolboxIndex.tbd
  • toolboxIndex_reset.tbd

Caution! in this folder there are also some Very important files, for example [devenv.exe.config], if you delete other files, well… get ready.

Once deleted the files, restart Visual Studio and voila!

(No need to clarify that to delete files it was necessary to have the IDE is closed, no?)
