Hello!
Since about 1 month ago my Windows account is blocked every 60 minutes. I’m always using different devices from here to there, so I thought that leave my old credentials in one of these devices so that’s why is blocked.
So I started to check everything in Madrid, Barcelona, Seattle, etc. and nothing… every 60 minutes, I have my account locked. My next step was to try to contact the Avanade Helpdesk so they give me a list of devices with invalid login attempts… but the bureaucracy kills me.
Yesterday Ricard told me that perhaps this is related with the Lync client. And that deleting some files probably solves the problem. So Ricard returned to Barcelona, and I keep myself with the doubt about this … a little bing and google search and got to the possible solution.
Note: the difference between the two search engines is amazing. Google gives me what I want in the first place, bing… so bing is very nice.
So that, in the forums of TechNed there is one thread someone says that you for Lync 2010 following these steps, the problem is solved.
1. Delete the following directories
of the C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Communicator\*.*
of the C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Communicator\*.*
2. Delete the following entry in the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Communicator
3 And the problem is solved.
From Lync2010 a time has already passed, and in my case I deleted the following directories
-C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\
-C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\
Without deleting the registry entry and seems to work… in a couple of hours more I will see if this post is still valid.
