Hola,
When some time ago I saw this feature within the Power Tools for Visual Studio, the first thing that I thought was in who works with files so long to need something. That was before returning to find me with projects HTML where the cshtml may have hundreds of lines.
And that is the objective of the Enhanced Scroll Bar, help with navigation in “long” file. If you want to activbar the Scroll Bar you can do from options, looking for “scroll bar”. There you will see the 2 modes available: Bar mode and Map mode. And in the 2nd option, different sizes that supports Map mode
- Off
- Narrow
- Medium
- Wide
If you enable it in “Narrow” mode for example, you’ll see that the right side of the code editor apaece a “map” that shows the code that we are viewing at that time.
Other options change the width of the map, being the largest as of the next image.
Then inside if we move the mouse on the map (and have enabled the option to Preview) we can see a preview of the code.
Displaying the context menu on the map can also move among the contents of the file, access the options or go to the position that we are viewing.
As well, one interesting option that is also available for Visual Studio Power Tools 2012the 2012. and I thought that it would not use, but am taking the taste with the demon htmls
