Buenas,

today returning to ASP.Net MVC I encounter a completely unknown IIS that is unresponsive to anything. As always the 1st place to see that you happen is Event Viewer, here I am with 2 pearls that are for framing

  • Unable to bind to the underlying transport for [:]: 80. The IP Listen-Only list may contain a reference to an interface which may not exist on this machine. The data field contains the error number.
  • The World Wide Web Publishing Service (WWW Service) did not register the URL prefix http://*:80/ < MyProject > for site 1. The site has been disabled. The data field contains the error number.

After a quick search on BING (the new search engine from the iOS 7), I am realized that these messages basically tell me that I have taken up port 80 by another application. So now look what App uses port 80. While I started to think of a sniffer that allows me to see the apps and port associations, I see in the Task Manager I have a couple of instances of Apache running… the story is long Guiño

But is reset the Apache (destroying other development environments) and already have ONLINE again the IIS.

Thanks Bing and IIS.Net forums!
