Buenas,

If you haven’t tried the SDK for Bing Maps Windows 8 , probably in versions Beta you will have touched explain to your boss why you must install Visual Studio 2012 so running maps. Now, since a few days ago has left the SDK RTM version, because one of the news was that it was no longer necessary to have Visual Studio 2012 to make the maps work.

Now when I think the first packet of an application for Windows 8 , I see that the problem remains. And of course, but when you get when you read The aid official of MSDN, leaves you worse because doesn’t help and above suggests you that you install Visual Studio 2012 if something doesn’t work.

But hey, after awhile and look pretty for the solution is very simple

  • Add the reference of C++ redistributable on your project of Windows 8
  • Create a deployment package in RELEASE (never in DEBUG, never in DEBUG!)
