Buenas,
one of the bases of proper management is to analyze information quickly and transparent. Team Foundation Server offers much information from the work of a team; the management information of source code, builds and the management of work among others items.
Until now can work with this information was something that we needed a bit of effort since did it based on reports, leaves excelsa, etc. Today with Team Foundation Server 2012, this is quite simplified and only give a look at the home page of a Team Project already us enough for many things.
For example, in the picture above we find that we have a very comprehensive summary of information from many of the elements that make up a Team Project. For example, we can add as Favorites in our TP WorkItems queries to display on home page and we can see for example, the number of Active Bugs that we have at this moment.
We can define a build of Team Build, as a favorite in our team so that we can see a summary of the history of implementation in the Home. In this example we see the name of the Build definition, the date of last execution and a chart with the results of implementation of the last 10 (I think) builds and the size of the bar indicates the average time of execution of the same.
Also have the ability to view our hours scheduled vs hours outstanding graphics; and theBurndown chart know of SCRUM. All these charts are updated in real time, based on the information that is changing this in our TFS.
Finally, we also have the possibility of creating new work items directly from the Home; access to the backlog, work slate or WorkItems management; and see the list of people from our team among other things.
To close, what we have in the home meets two very clear premises:
- It is highly configurable, so that we can view the information that is important to us and helps us to manage our project
- It is a reflection of reliable 100% of the work that reports and running on our TFS. Here there is no place for lies and hidden red number.
