2 days ago I mentioned the launch of a new version of Team Foundation Server Power Tools for Team Foundation Server 2010. One of the options that are less used in this tool is the ability to directly interact with our Lync or Live Messenger contacts from Team Explorer in Visual Studio 2010panel.

If you do not have configured our messaging system in the Power Tools the first thing we see when we connect to a Team Project will be a list of users like this, where we can perform at the level of Team Foundation, but not at the level of IM:

To enable integration with an instant messaging system, select the node [Team Members], deploy the contextual menu and then select the tab [Instant Messaging]. At this point we must complete the data with the email address which we use.

And ready, the next time we open Visual Studio 2010 and we have implemented our IM client, we can already see the list of actions available for Team Foundation and IM contacts

hace 2 días comenté el lanzamiento de una nueva versión de Team Foundation Server Power Tools para Team Foundation Server 2010. Una de las opciones que menos se utilizan en esta herramienta es la capacidad de interactuar con nuestros contactos de Lync o Live Messenger directamente desde el panel Team Explorer en Visual Studio 2010.

Si no tenemos configurado nuestro sistema de mensajería en las Power Tools lo primero que veremos cuando nos conectamos a un Team Project será un listado de usuarios como el siguiente, donde podemos realizar tareas a nivel de Team Foundation, pero no a nivel de IM:

Para poder habilitar la integración con un sistema de mensajería instantánea, seleccionamos el nodo [Team Members], desplegamos el menú contextual y luego seleccionamos la pestaña [Instant Messaging]. En este punto debemos completar los datos con la dirección de correo que utilizamos.

Y listo, la próxima vez que abramos Visual Studio 2010 y tengamos en ejecución nuestro cliente de IM, ya podremos ver la lista de contactos con las acciones disponibles para Team Foundation y para IM
