A few days ago Brian Harry commented that during the month of August we would see a new version of the Power Tools forTeam Foundation Server 2010. Today while sailing in the forums and the QA of the same, I find that already has been released this version.

Among the new features that I am interested in the same go to try the following:

Improvements in the integration with Windows explorer.

Especially when it comes to being able to work using another domain creedenciales. In my case, I have my computer in the domain of Avanade, but work with other clients, in other domains, e.g. elbruno@mordor.com, elbruno@narnia.com, because it couldn’t work directly from the browser, the credentials that were you passed to these domains always were theAvanade. Good point for the Power Tools Open-mouthed smile

WorkItem Search

While it is incredible that recently we see now (after almost 4 official versions of Team Foundation) already is here > “Search of WorkItems”. It initially comes as a text box in the toolbar in the IDE, but something good is something. An example with very simple search but returns interesting results.

Improvements in Builds

Because simply having the ability to compare 2 builds definitions already I feel happy. The following image shows the command line that I launched to compare 2 build definitions

and then using our dear WinDiff can see differences in the definition of both builds, for example with the name (obviously?), directory of drops, etc.

And also support for MAVEN 3 is something that is also appreciated when you work with Java.

Test Attachments Clean Up

About this application I wrote some time ago, and although it is not a “must have”, is a “must know”; because when your database grows to infinity and beyond, and of systems remember you what it costs a bit and the cost of a backup, then this tool can give you a hand to clean up useless information.

And the best…

There is no need to uninstall the previous version of the TFPT to install the new version, Inplace Upgrade supported Open-mouthed smile

Buenas,

hace unos días Brian Harry comentó que durante el mes de agosto veríamos una nueva versión de las Power Tools para Team Foundation Server 2010. Hoy mientras navegaba en los foros y los QA de las mismas, me encuentro que ya ha sido liberada esta versión.

Entre las novedades que me interesan en las mismas me dedicaré a probar las siguientes:

Mejoras en la integración con Windows explorer.

Especialmente en lo referido a poder trabajar utilizando creedenciales de otro dominio. En mi caso, que tengo mi ordenador en el dominio de Avanade, pero trabajo con otros clientes, en otros dominios, por ejemplo elbruno@mordor.com, elbruno@narnia.com, pues no podía trabajar directamente desde el explorador, ya que las credenciales que se le pasaban a estos dominios siempre eran las de Avanade. Punto bueno para las Power Tools Open-mouthed smile
