[#EVENT] Materiales del evento de Team Foundation Server Express con MSDN Latam

Buenas,

anoche durante de la paliza del Barcelona sobre el Milán (4-0) tuve la suerte de participar en un webcast sobre Team Foundation Server Express. Estas son las slides que utilicé durantes el evento.

Para montar las máquinas virtuales utilicé los siguientes trials de 90 días

Otro tema que salió estaba relacionado con la gestión de ramas y branches en el Source Control. Mi recomendación fue mi libro de ALM o la guía de Branching de los ALM Rangers que se puede descargar desde aquí.

otro evento en camino, en este caso por invitación de los amigos de MSDN Latam.

Como siempre aviso con antelación >> mañana por la noche (en Madrid, mañana por la tarde en LatinoAmérica) para hablar un poco de Team Foundation Server Express.

Sesde MadridDotNet estaremos colaborando / participando en este evento donde se tratarán bastantes temas muy interesantes. Y además que sepas que es 100% virtual vía el YouTube ese, con lo que no deberías preocuparte por el tráfico de coches en Madrid ni por el tráfico aéreo en Mordor.

[#EVENT] Live Meeting error + Windows 8: Solved (well almost solved)

when last year I had to give a webcast of TFS On the Cloud with friends of SecondNug , I prepared for several possible errors. At that time the version of TFS Service was in Beta stage and there were things that were not working or with luck. Incredibly with TFS Service I had no problem, but which if exploded like an angry taliban vest was the combination of Live Meeting + Windows 8 .

Not be very well the technicality of the problem, the issue is that the Live Meeting client does not work in Windows 8 . Toca do a remote desktop or something similar from a Windows 7 with Live Meeting to be able to publish a session. Petite chestnut.

[#EVENT] Error Live Meeting + Windows 8: Solved (bueno casi solved)

cuando el año pasado me tocó dar un webcast de TFS On the Cloud con los amigos de SecondNug, me preparé para varios posibles errores. En ese momento la versión de TFS Service estaba en fase Beta y había cosas que no funcionaban ni con suerte. Increíblemente con TFS Service no tuve ningún problema, pero el que sí explotó como un chaleco talibán enfadado fue la combinación de Live Meeting + Windows 8.

No se muy bien el detalle técnico del problema, la cuestión es que el cliente de Live Meeting no funciona en Windows 8. Toca hacer un escritorio remoto o algo similar desde un Windows 7 con Live Meeting para poder publicar una sesión. Menuda castaña.

[#EVENT] Materiales del evento de #ALM para el 2013 (si no se acaba el mundo)

ya queda menos, en pocas horas se acaba el mundo y ayer, me tiré a la piscina y mostré un par de escenarios de trabajo con GitHub, TeamCity, etc y claro, lo mismo más simple para mi con TFS Service y Visual Studio 2012. Mi idea era mostrar como montar un entorno de trabajo completo en 30 minutos utilizando los 2 enfoques. En ambos casos, partí desde cero, solo con una cuenta de correo para dar de alta las cuentas en GitHub y en TFS Service, luego instalé los productos necesarios para cada entorno, configuraciones locales, etc. Creo que el webcast ha quedado completito Guiño

Como resumen de cosas que deberías aprender para el 2013, yo pongo los siguientes

- El trabajo es cada vez más descentralizado con lo que GIT y algún CI como TeamCity es un #MUSTHAVE.

- TFS Service, un servicio gratis que complementado con los 2 productos anteriores es otro #MUSTHAVE porque agregamos herramientas para dar soporte a Agile, Kanban, CMMI, etc.

Me queda pendiente mostrar la integración entre GIT y TFS, eso lo dejo para otro webcast o para otro par de posts.

Por cierto, salvo VS2012 y Win8, todos los demás productos que utilicé en el webcast son gratis. Con limitaciones de usuarios, y alguna cosilla a tener en cuenta …. Guiño

[#EVENT] How and #ALM dude will live in 2013? (if we can survive to the end of the world as we know it)

I have tried to sync everything so that the end of the world (21/12) I grasp in my native land, between asaditos, Fernets, beer and friends… Live Christmas with cold, thats something to which I can not get in Europe.

If it is highly probable that the Earth runs out in a few days, if this forecast should fail, friends ofSecondNug I have been invited to give a session about how the life of a MS Developer is for the coming year. Don’t expect a typical webcast, in this case I will comment on my experiences that are not always the best to take into account.

[#EVENT] Como viviremos como #ALM Dudes en el 2013? (si no se acaba el mundo en unos dias por supuesto)

he tratado de sincronizar todo para que el fin del mundo (21/12) me agarre en mi tierra natal, entre asaditos, Fernets, cervecita y amigos … Eso de vivir las navidades con frio, es algo a lo que no me puedo acostumbrar en Europa.

Si bien es altamente probable que la tierra se acabe en unos días, si este pronóstico llegase a fallar, los amigos de SecondNug me han invitado a dar una sesión sobre cómo será la vida de un MS Developer para el año que viene. No esperen un webcast de los típicos, en este caso comentaré mis experiencias que no siempre son las mejores a tener en cuenta.

Los datos de la sesión los puedes ver debajo, aunque mi recomendación es que no te preocupes mucho, disfruta lo que queda, que en unos días todo se acaba … Guiño

[#EVENT] #RoboBuilder, a #Kinect controlled robot humanoid for the 2nd part of the #Robotics event

It is true that the best of technology events does not happen during them but after them. And so it was that after a couple of beers I made some friends that would not do in a normal day. Coupled with the memory of fish that I have, today I find myself with a couple of mails where I see the 2nd part of the Robotics event it is putting the bar quite high.

Among the outstanding things, we have a demo of Robotics Studio with Kinect, and course… happened to someone putting RoboBuilder in the middle. If you do not know RoboBuilder, is as a kind of Lego with steroids, since it consists of a set of construction which allows you to assemble a humanoid, a dog, and a species of Spider Halo4, and other forms with various sensors and actuators. Then, obviously you can set and control them using a proprietary software.

The good thing is that you as I have been a very good boy this Christmas Father Christmas / Santa Claus will bring me a gift. A long time ago that I felt like, because I believe that it will allow me to do many more things than the layperson, especially if we unite with the Kinect and… some concept of T1000.
